epson c44ux prob installing

when installing printer it installs to lpt1 port and
doesnt recognise that it is a usb connection,how do i
solve this plz,getting desparate

Are you installing the software BEFORE connecting the printer to the PC?

If not, do a total unisntall using
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20one.htm

Then start again.
