At the Windows Update screen there will be critical
updates. Today there were four. Two of the files were
rejected as "not tested by Microsoft". What kind of deal
is this. Critical that I update, then refusing to do so?

What were the files?
Apart from the licence agreement, I haven't yet seen any messages with
critical updates.

Verify It's Compatibility with Windows XP.
