unknown error when using SEARCH

everytime i try to search for something, i press the
search button after i type in my request, and an error
pops up that just has a yellow triangle with an
exclamation mark embedded in it. the title bar
says "search companion". it has no text that follows to
indicate what type of error it is. i press "OK" (the
only button available) and it just stops there. it
doesn't crash my computer, but it seems like my search
option is disabled somehow. does someone know how to
solve this problem? please help!

This is due to search companion - registry corruption.

Click Start | Run | and type "regsvr32 /i shell32"

Hi Harry,

Option 1. Depending on your version of TweakUI, run it, go to the Desktop
settings and put the check mark back in Search Results.

Option 2: Apply this edit:

Search Shows Yellow Triangle with ! (Line 75)

To use the VBS File: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double-click
the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.
