XP has been quite annoying after I recently reformatted.
My printer is installed and works fine, yet every, single
time I start the computer up, I get the "printer detected"
box. It's not any particular printer, just says printer.
I have tried just to go with it and install a generic
driver just to get rid of it, but then, after I install
it, the little box in the sys tray says a problem occured
during the installation of my hardware, and the "printer
detected" still comes up! In fact, it comes up even when
I removed all devices - nothing is attached, in other
words, so I don't know what it's detecting.
I'm in desparate need of help. The non-existent printer
is interfering with my internet connection, and just
recently I got the blue death screen with dumping physical
memory that said the problem was hardware related. I
suspect that this too is linked to the printer.
