Sorry "Nutcase" but not even I can follow your route-
settings\taskbar. Settings? what settings??
Right click the start button. now click properties then
the start menu tab-customize button and then the advanced
tab and uncheck the box "highlight newly installed
programs". Good luck.

Hi,

I use classic menu, so I think in those terms. For the XP-style menu, click
start/control panel/"start menu and taskbar" instead, or use the method you
mentioned.
