Every once in a while I go into Explore, than WINDOWS
FOLDER, and than TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES folder to delete
unwanted temporary Internet files. Located directly on top
of the TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES folder is a folder named
TEMP. In that folder are some files. Can someone please
let me know what the TEMP folder is used for, and can I
delete those files that are in that folder? I am new to
the computer world and trying to keep my computer in good
working order. Thank so much for all your help.
Sincerely,
Joe

Hi Joey,
They are Temporary files which windows and other programs use for
intermediate processing.
Yes you can delete them. If windows needs any of them it will refuse to
delete. Just leave them for tomorrow.
A good tool to use for cleaning the temp files and the internet temp files
is the explorer disk cleanup.
Right click on the c:\ and sellect properties than sellect Disk Cleanup and
you can clean out lots of trash.
