I took over this computer from the previous user. Had never used Outlook
before! Have not figured it out yet! Wish I had an owners manual! The
previous user had never registered with Microsoft, I am still trying to
repair configuration problems, what is a Proxy Server?!

Search Help for "proxy" to find out more. It has nothing to do with
Outlook Express.
There is a user's manual for Outlook Express. It's in the Help file
associated with Outlook Express.
It is not required to register Outlook Express with Microsoft.

A good start are your Outlook Express (you are not using Outlook, that comes
with the Office Suite) Help files.....look at "Getting Started."
