why web site pages miss loading?

why is it that (real often), the web site page i am going
to returns that infamous 'can't find or display page'? if
i open another web site page and it works, then go back to
the erlier one that failed, it will usually now open.
this happens all the time. any one know why and how to
avoid?

on mine the connection cable was not plugged in
completely.
