I have been experiencing unexpected shutdowns in WIN XP
on my Sony PCG GRZ610 laptop. I cannot attribute it to
anything. Sony suggsted I use the restore disks but that
does not fix what might be a hardware issue. Restore disk
is a cop-out!
Any Help is appreciated.

Are you getting a pop-up saying that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) has
failed in some way so the computer must shut down or restart ? If so, you
are infected with the Win32 Blaster worm. This must be fixed with a
download from Microsoft. If this is the case, re-post and someone will give
you the links for patch download.
