Under Windows XP upgrade , everytime I reboot this PC, it
loses connection to the HP-R80 printer. I have to disable
plugNplay, reboot, then enable plugNplay to get the printer
to print. The printer is using the default XP drivers.
Is there a permanent fix to this problem?

Microsoft recommend that Plug and Play in the BIOS settings be DISABLED
before installation of XP. However since I don't know what 'plug and play'
you're referring to, I cannot be more specific than that.

I am referring to the Plug N Play of the ECP printer port.
It must be disabled, rebooted, and then enabled for the
printer to function normally.
