printer problems

computer will not reconize printer. downloaded printer
driver , but when trying to install the driver i get an
error message about spooler service not starting. It says
to click on yes to start service ,but nothing happens and
it exits the intallation. I am running windows XP with a
lexmark Z45 printer. It is an USB printer. I have tried
unintsalling old driver but i recive a message that no
printer is installed. HELP!!

Follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions on how to remove ALL traces of the
previous installation... with particular attention to the paragraph on
Lexmark printers.
