I have a Windows XP Home Edition PC and would like to use the Screen saver
password protection to keep others from geting on my computer while I'm away
from my desk. I have checked the feature using the Display Properties, but
it doesn't require a password to come out of the screen saver (3D Text).
I've checked the Microsoft Knowledgebase articles and the referenced
registry settings. Everything seems to be set properly. Has anyone had a
similar experience? Is there another way to activate a screen saver password
protection (third party software)?

Hi Joe,
Check your settings here: Start/Run/Regedit
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"ScreenSaverIsSecure"="1"

The pw protection in 2K and XP is not the same as W9x. The
checkmark is to return to the welcome screen where you will
have to log on again with your password.
