separation setup

I cannot get access to my separations setup box while
using Adobe Illustrator. It says I need to have a Post
Script printer as my default - how do I go about doing
this? I presently use an HP Color LaserJet 4500.

Is the Postscript Personality installed on the printer? If you print a
configuration page on the printer it will have this information,

If PS is installed on the printer use the HP C LaserJet 4500-PS driver.
Either change the driver or manually create a new printer which uses the PS
driver.

If the printer was installed using Plug and Play, the default driver
installed is the HP Color LaserJet 4500 which is the PCL version.
