Search Companion not working

I am unable to get the search companion to work in XP.
When I try to run it I get the following error
"A file that is required to run search companion cannot be
found. You may need to run setup"

I have tried the fix specified in Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article - 319949, but it didn't make any difference.

I am running win xp sp1.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Can't think of anything else, you've already looked at the KB.
Maybe doing a google search of the problem may turn up something.
