I've installed XP HE upgrade on a Win ME HP9870. All service packs and
upgrades are in and the printer port IP address matches the working printer
port configuration on the working Gateway Win 98 PC.
Just to be consistent I downloaded all the updates to my Sony Win XP HE
notebook at the same time I was updating the XP upgrade. The Sony was
printing before the updates now it's down too.
All three have the same printer port IP address but only the non-XP works.
The XP systems are using the latest XP drivers available for the HP support
website.
What's next?
