Hello,

I borrowed a copy of XP to see what is was like and to see
if my system can run it. However I don't like it and I
want to revert back to my Windows 98.

But I don't know how to get Windows 98 back on.

Can anyone please help me.(i'm not very computer minded!)

Thanks

Clayton

Hi Clayton

If you installed XP 'over' W 98 and opted to save the uninstall files, =
then there should an entry in Add/Removes Programs so that you can =
uninstall XP. If there is no entry and you 'clean' installed XP, then =
you will have to reformat your hard disk/partition prior to =
re-installing W98.

when you upgrade to XP over Windows 98 or Me the XP installer automatically
creates a backup of your previous system so that you can uninstall XP and
revert back. Look in Add and Remove Programs for the item Uninstall Windows
XP then click the Remove button. You will have tow options .One is to remove
the uninstall files and the other is the one you want which is to Uninstall
XP.

The only times you won't have the Uninstall option are if you did a clean
install of XP, you upgraded over Windows NT (including 2000 or XP Home), or
if after you upgraded you converted the file system to NTFS or did a Repair
Install.
