if I select a any screensaver (vs none)each time a move
the mouse, the systems drops me back to selecting a user
in the windows user sections window (like each time I
start the system from off or restart)
What's wrong?

On the screen saver page of display properties, clear the tick from "On
resume, display Welcome screen".

Hi Neil,
Turn off the "On resume, display Welcome Screen" feature:
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
Click the Screen Saver tab, click to clear the On Resume, display Welcome
screen check box.
