Norton Antivirus

I'm trying to uninstall norton because I downloaded the
avg free software, and my subscription to norton is about
up. When I tried to uninstall the norton antivirus, i get
a fatal error message that just says "fatal error during
installation".
Why would I get that message when I am trying to UNINSTALL
and not install?
Is there something I need to do or fix before I can
uninstall? Anyone know why that happens, or how to fix it
so I can get rid of my norton antivirus?

Many applications combine uninstall into the install routine, essentially
starting setup and then choosing uninstall.

Check the Symantec website for help with this issue: www.symantec.com.

Use RNAV.EXE uninstaller tool from Symantec.

Goto: www.symantec.com/search and type rnav.exe or rnav.

I recently had a system crash and had to re-install XP and all progs. When I
reinstalled NAV, my subscription date was reset to the new installation
date, and gave me another year. This might work for you. Uninstall, then
reinstall NAV and see.
