Is there a way to get the cdkey for an installed program? I have lost or
shredded the slip in the cd case. Normally I write it on the cdrom
itself -- the colors on this cd were too dark.

depends on the program. for Windows XP you can
(http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml). you would need to
contact the maker of the specfif problem you are trying to find out the key
for.

Chris;
I am not sure if you knew this, but that Jellybean application works
with a lot of Microsoft software and applications.
The only OS I have found that it does not work with is Windows 2000.
However it works with Office products and various Microsoft developer
software as well.

The only thing I can come up with for third-party programs is a free utility
called 'Belarc Adviser' (link below). It has a section called 'Software
Licences' which gives me the number for 'Adobe PhotoShopLE' but dosen't give
the one used for 'Roxios WinOnCD'. You don't say which program so it's a
case of maybe/maybenot. 'Belarc Adviser' however is worth haveing anyway.

If it is that your looking for the number used for installing XP-Operating
System then thiere are some several utilities for this (mentioned by
others), such as 'ViewKeyXP'

AIDA32 http://www.aida32.hu/aida-features.php?bit=32 might get it for you
depending on the app

Those participating in the games forum may help:

Next time, I suggest you use a fluorescent marker pen.
