Once Windows is loaded, right click My Computer, select Manage, Disk
Management. In the right pane, right click your Boot/System hard disk (make
sure you've got the right one) and select Mark partition as active.

Ok, then boot your computer from the XP CD. When given the option to Setup
or Repair, choose Repair. This will take you into Recovery Console. Follow
the prompts. Once you're at the command prompt, type in the following
commands:

FIXBOOT
BOOTCFG /REBUILD

You need to wipe out all partitions on your drive, repartition, reformat and
reinstall XP.
Boot with the XP CD and select the option to Repair with Recovery Console
