my system has become unstable due to a program i installed
recently. my only restore point takes me back to a time
after said program was already there. how can i restore to
factory? i need the computer stock, as if i've just opened
it for the first time. any ideas?

thanks,

ren

Did your system come with a recovery disk or some sort of recovery routine?
The function you seek is not a function of XP but one usually provided by
the system manufacturer. The only thing we could provide in XP is how to do
a completely clean install assuming you have an XP CD and not recovery CD.
But we know nothing of your setup, what came on it fresh from the factory,
etc. You need to contact your system manufacturer if you are unsure.
