Printer prints a page on bootup Winxp

XP is printin a page on one of my printers everytime I
boot up. I have contacted the printers manuufacturer they
say its windows. How can I fix this. It prints a U on the
upper corner of a page.
Please email me.. Put (xp print) in the subject please.

Assuming you have the printer connected over the parallel port, that is the
plug-and-play detection sequence - some parallel port chipsets don't play
well with all printers. I'd suggest you play around with the BIOS settings
for the parallel port (EPP vs. ECP etc.)
