I referred to a given file (of photographs) using Windows
Explorer. When Win Exp tries to display the view of
those files, I get the following message:
-----------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
X Runtime Error!
Program: C:|WINDOWS\explorer.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate
it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more
information.
----------------------------------------
What does this mean, and what do I do now? I have no
problem with other files of photos, but just this one.
Thanks,
Jim Owens

If you're having no problems with other files, this one might be corrupt.

Thanks, Michael.
I tried this(viewing the original file) with My Computer
(which, I think, uses Win Exp) and there was no problem
with the original file.
Any other ideas?
Jim

I have seen this on occasion on these boards and am not sure why it happens
but occasionally a file won't open in Explorer but will open in it's
associated application or in some other area of the system. Windows
Explorer and the browser, Internet Explorer are very similar, almost
identical in some respects as you can browse the Internet from Windows
Explorer.

Try the following, open IE, go to Tools, select Internet Options, go to the
Advanced tab, place a check next to "Disable script debugging" and be sure
there is no check next to "Display a notification about every script error,"
click apply and ok and see if that resolves it.
