XP installation

I am trying to upgrade my ME to XP and while the setup is
anaylizing my system the process just stops but I do not
get any errors it justs and does nothing. I have exited
and retryed 3 times and I am getting hung up at the same
place. Any suggestions on how to get around this and
finish setup?

Place the XP CD in the drive, when the setup screen appears, select "Check
System Compatibility," the report it generates may give a clue as to the
source of the issue.
