Good question on how to activate a MS product! I've spent
COUNTLESS hours looking for the procedure!

First, you should only need to activate if prompted to do so. Many system
come activated at the factory so you might only need to activate if you
format and start over. In which case, you would be prompted near the end of
setup. If there's an active Internet Connection and you tell it to activate
during setup it will do so. If not, you will receive prompts after setup is
complete. You can either click or double click the prompt to launch
activation or you can activate at your option by going to Start\All
Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Activate Windows.
