Compaq C3 1000

I just upgraded from Windows ME to XP. I have a Compaq
C3 1000 printer/copier/scanner attached but am unable to
get the computer to recognze it. It worked fine with ME,
but XP doesn't recognize it, thus I am unable to print.
I have downloaded the updated driver from Compaq, but it
didn't make any difference. It's not recognizing it as a
plug-and-play, norm can I install it manually.
Appreciate any help to resolve this.

If you kept the unit connected during the upgrade you've corrupted the
drivers. Uninstall and reinstall using the directions at

Since it's an All in One unit, ensure you also go into the Device Manager,
look in Imaging Devices and remove the Scanner part of it as well.

Download a new copy of the driver package from the HP website and install
the software BEFORE connecting the unit to the PC.
