hidden files

how can i make hidden files be no longer hidden?

a program is currently set to run upon startup of my
computer and it is not appearing as an open application
on my toolbar at the bottom of the screen ..... yet when
i log off windows asks if i would like to end the program
now or wait while it closes thus not losing saved
information .... this has led me to believe that the
program is hidden, but i could very well be wrong in this
assumption .... i simply would like to delete this
program ... any help would be greatly appreciated

Check "Start Menu>All Programs>Startup -- Is it listed
there. If not it is most likely in the registry (RUN ) keys
or in the programs reg key under "Start withWindodows" or
some other key or data value. Check the startup folder items
first, then if you need it I'll give you the paths in the
registry to look in.
(NOTE: Editing the registry is always a last resort as it
can render the system unbootable if not done properly.)

Control Panel/Folder Options/View Tab/scroll down to (1) Hidden Files And
Folders and uncheck (A) Do not, Etc, then check mark Show hidden Files, etc;
then click Apply to all, etc at the top; click Apply and then OK. (B) Go to
Start/Search/All Files and Folders/type in the name of the File/Program you
want to find, scrool down and click Advanced etc and then search.
