Quick launch taskbar is constantly disappearing when i start the computer

Before shutting down my computer i make sure that the Quick Launch box in
Taskbar and Start menu properties is properly checked. Yet when i restart my
computer, the Quick Launch is not there. I have to go again to Taskbar
properties to recheck the box to have the Quick Launch

Any one knows what is happening here?

I solved the problem myself. A program i had installed got itself into the
quick launch folder and obviously was interfering with the normal operation
of the quick launch.

Was it a program shortcut or a whole program that ended up in the
QuickLaunch folder?
