Windows Installer not responding

[LEXUS]

I installed McAfee 7.0 Enterprise in my latop running XP
Professional (came preinstalled with IBM ThinkPad T30).

When I try to uninstall McAfee or any other software using
Add/Remote programs it gives opens up a pop up window with
a message "preparing to remove" with WINDOWS INSTALLER on
the top. Actually nothing happens and system hangs.

Any idea as to how to reinstall the windows installer or
uninstall McAfee 7.0 Enterprise edition.

In addition, I can use my MSN IM software. It just freezes

All these problems started after installing McAfee 7.0
