How can I tell if SP1a is installed on my niece's computer. She has
WindowsXP.

Click Start , Right click My Computer, click Properties. On the General tab
it will tell which version of Windows you have and Service Pack 1 if she has
it installed.

Right click My Computer then Properties, it will tell you there.

You should see on this tab if SP1 is installed
