I recently had to reinstall Windows XP on my computer. I think the partition
was totally reformatted and I also changed from FAT32 to NTFS file systems.
Now, every other time at startup, XP wants to run Chkdisk before displaying
the Desktop. This usually reports that some 'file record segments' are
unreadable.
What is going on and how can I stop Chkdsk running.
