View Full Version : remove "My ..." folders?

Is it possible within XP to completely remove the "My ..." folders so
that they do not reappear? It seems that even when I point them to a
single folder and remove all references in the registry the folders
still reappear (thanks to Microsoft applications that recreate them
every time they run, probably). I do not want the word "My" anywhere on
my system, nor do I want dedicated directories for pictures, music, etc.

Your help is appreciated in cleaning this out of my administrator
account settings.

My words are my own. They represent no other; they belong to no other.
Don't read anything into them or you may be required to compensate me
for violation of copyright. (I do not speak for my employer.)

No. But you can move them out of sight, f. e. to a place deep in the
WINDOWS folder.
