I have same Computer and had same problem and cured it
as follows
Open Display Properties (control panel)
Appearance tab--- Hit effects-- Check Large Icons
uncheck "show shadows under menues-- uncheck "show window
contents while dragging"
Whatever happened it cured the problem.
