I have used a HP Laserjet 1000 for almost a year without a
problem. I use it to print reports from a DOS based
accounting program. About two weeks ago I was getting
print spool errors when i would print. I have solved the
problem with the spool errors but now i can not keep the
printer listed after i install the drivers. I have tried
using different USB ports uninstalling the printer reboot
and then reinstall with no luck. I have used the plug and
play and gone from the latest drivers i downloaded but is
still missing on reboot. What is causing this problem. I
have a dot matrix that will stay in the control panel
after each reboot? I have uninstalled some of latest
Windows updates after seeing all the spooler errors people
have had but i don't think this is my problem. The only
way to use my printer is to unplug then use a different
USB port and have the PC find the new printer. This only
works half the time.
