View Full Version : How to Remap a WinXP Keyboard

I'd like to be able to either remap the keyboard or disable a key. I want
to be able to avoid accidentally pressing the lower left hand "Control" key
while typing. Apparently either Ctrl-A or Ctrl-Z can erase the text being
typed, and it's now very easy on a laptop keyboard to hit Ctrl instead of
shift.

Is there either a function within WindowsXP Home, or a utility or Power Toy
which would let me do so?

PC Magazine has a utility called TradeKeys that works very well with XP. You
can disable any key as well as switch the functions of different keys. It
solved the problem I had with accidentally hitting the Caps Lock key.
