Fax Setup WindowsXP

I tried to set up WindowsXP Fax on my new computer, an HP
a255c. In Control Panel I clicked Add or Remove Programs.
Then I clicked Add/Remove Windows Components. This message
came up:
"Setup was unable to open file wbemoc.inf. Error Code 0x2
at line 2011777033. When I clicked OK (but it's NOT OK!),
this came up: "The applicaion could not be initialized".
So how can I activate WindowsXP Fax?

Which analog fax modem are you using?
Is it on the Windows XP HCL list?

Hi Russ,
This Lucent Win modem came with my new HP Pavilion with
WindowsXP.
