clipboard does not save more than one item

My clipboard in microsoft word wont't save more than one
item when I move from one document to another. any
suggestions. I have xp home.

That's the way the standard clipboard works.

There are 3rd party add-in's that expand the clipboard functionality.
Perhaps it is one of those you used to use to have this expectation.

When using Word 2000 the Clipboard does hold several Items
