HP Printer installed, wizard keeps popping up

I installed a new HP photosmart 7960 in place of the old
HP Photosmart 950 (4 in 1). Each time I change programs
the printer wizard pops up or the balloon with New
printer detected pops up. I have seen your answer that
says "Make sure that your LPT is ***to BIOS".
Please explain a little further. I am not that advanced.
Furthermore I noticed that LPT was a different port.
Please help.
P.S. The printer works okay.

Go into the BIOS and set the LPT port to EPP.
