View Full Version : A few issues since I installed XP

I hope someone can help me resolve a few issues with XP.
For some reason, I can't scroll properly on certain
websites such as eBay or Webshots. Instead of getting an
easy, smooth scrolling motion, I get a vewry choppy
movement. If I use the wheel on my mouse, I can't scroll
at all. This just started about two or thee days ago.
The other issue is when I open my browser. I had Yahoo set
as a default browser but since yesterday, I get something
completely different (luckysearch.net). I have no idea
where this came from.
Would anyone recommend that I reinstall XP?

Sounds like your PC is a victim of spyware. I use Ad-aware version 6.0 from
Lavasoft.

i do not know the exact defintion of a virus, but all i know is it
takes control of your browser and is a pain to get rid of - like i
said earlier, the hijack this (which is freeware i believe it is
called - search in google for hijack this) showed me how to get rid of
it.

J'ai eu le même problème, luckysearch.net comme startpage, il suffit
de faire rechercher "tapicfg.exe" et tapicfg.lgc et les détruire,
faire aussi une recherche dans le registre et détruire la clé, (find
tapicfg.exe,in c:\windows\system directory, delete it, then regedit
and find the key with tapicfg as search result, and delete this key,
delete the file tapicfg.lgc in c:\windows\applog. Excuse for my
english...
