I have a Apple Laserwrtier Select 360. It works fine
connected to a 98 machine. The drivers are provided with
XP. None of my XP machines will recognize it. With the
printer connected to the 98 machine on a peer to peer
network it works fine when the XP machines print thruough
it.
I have tried new cables . I have tried different settings
in Bios. It will not be recognized on any XP box.I have
deleted all drivers from Print server to no avail.
Ideas?
Thanks Starr

I presume this is a parallel port printer?
Ensure the LPT port is set to EPP in the BIOS and that in the Device
Manager, under Com and LPT ports.... look in LPT port... under Port
Settings..... Ensure Enable Legacy Plug and Play is checked.

If you are attempting to connect this over the serial port verify that the
XP COM configuration is set the same as the printer. The defaults are set
for modems. The baudrate and handshake are the critical ones but they all
have to match. There is no Plug and Play detection over the serial port for
printers.
