I am attempting to install the compaq A1000 printer to my computer. I went into Compaq's website and downloaded the new verion for windows xp into my computer. all the files are in there. I can reinstall everything but it won't show that my printer is acti
ve when i try to print or when I look under scanners and printers. Is there anything I can do to fix this.

It shouldn't show up under Scanners... it should show up in the Control
Panel under Printers & Faxes.
