You can look at all of the programs and processes that
are running by cntl-alt-del, i.e., by simultaneously
pressing the control, alt, and delete keys. This will
bring up the Windows Task Manager Screen. This will show
what applications are running as well as what processes
are running.

This is much different than "hidden files". Hidden files
are normally referred to when you are looking for files
with explorer. To view hidden files in explorer (not
internet explorer), bring up a copy of exporer, go to the
tools menu. In the tools menu, go to "folder options" -
Under folder options go to the View menu and there is a
item you can check to view hidden and/or system files.
