Bill,
I have a thought. I wonder if somehow you got the "CNN"
icon or image configured as your "background". To check
right click on your desktop (not on an icon) and select
properties.
Then click on the desktop tab.
Note what is currently highlighted by blue. If it's
something about CNN then select another background. The
default backgound is "Bliss" or at least that's what I
have installed. You can pick any or create your own from
a photographic image.
Once your selection is made, click apply (where you'll
see the changes" and OK to finalize it.
Hope that's it.
