Annoying PopUps

[Kathy]

I keep recieving all these annoying popups while im in
the middle of a program. One of the popups was
advertising about the annoying popups.. lol I checked
into it and i have to pay for a program to get rid of
them. Is there some other way i can get rid of them
without buying a special program ? hope someone can
help..lol Thank you

Install and turn on a firewall. XP does have a rudimentary
firewall which will stop these spammers from using the
Messenger Service.
You can simply stop the pop-up by turning Messenger off, but
that still leaves the computer port open for hackers.

I recently installed the Google Toolbar and find it very effective (and
free). See http://toolbar.google.com/

Thank you all for your help. I have enabled the internet
connection firewall. I hope this will work. If not i will
