How can I restore the functionality of the Recycled bin.
It is grayed out, therefore I'm unable to retrive deleted
files. When the recycled bin is double clicked, I receive
a message stating something like:
"Unable to communicate with Norton recycle"
I have XP home edition. It used to work, but not any more.
I have no idea how it ended up in this state.

Can anyone help?
Thanks.

It sounds like either you have Norton handling your recycle bin and it's
gone bad, or it used to handle it, and you've uninstalled Norton and the bin
didn't go back to normal.

You might try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton and see if that does the
trick.
