Hello Everybody,
I would like to deactivate the starting screen so I can see, what Windows is
doing (loading drivers and so on) during the startup. Does anybody know, how
this works? I found nothing about it on the internet.
Thanks,
Oliver.

That, if I understand you correctly is done in safe mode where you have
the option of seeing every step of the boot process.

Is there no way to show each step during normal startup? Sometimes there is
a "starting error", but only in normal mode and not in safe mode.
Thanx,
Oliver.

Go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings. In
the System Startup section click the Edit button. Locate the entry in your
BOOT.INI file for your XP install. Add /SOS to the end of the line.

Example:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect /SOS
