View Full Version : USB ports
My husband wiped the computer and did a system recovery.
Now my PDA won't connect to the computer. Support said
that there should be 8 USB lines in the device manager
for hardware, but there are only 5. I've downloaded the
updates and service packs, but there are still only 5.
Any suggestions?

Shoot your husband! <g>
You didn't provide very much detailed information, so I am going on the
assumption the system was restored to the original shipped state. You will
need to reinstall your PDA software {what make is the PDA?] to allow it to
connect to the computer. The updates and service packs are very important,
but they probably play very little importance in regard to your PDA. Check
the PDA web site for information on how to save the information currently on
your PDA, as any backup files on the hard drive are probably lost. Make sure
the information will be saved before connecting after reinstalling the PDA
software.
