windows xp

I have recently bought a pc with windows xp,my old pc was
windows me,somehow my daughter decided to put my xp disk
in her computer and now i cant change it back to me or to
any other windows,and its telling me i have 10 days to
activate windows xp,i dont know how to re-install
Me.please can some help.I've tried to uninstall xp but it
says i cant without the activation code.my new computer
was already activated so i dont know the code and i dont
think that the company will give it to me as it was pre-
installed.please help.i only have 10 days to fix it.

If she used the disk to upgrade over her previous operating system, elected
to save her previous setup and did not convert to NTFS, there should be an
entry in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to all removal of XP.

If not, you are left with the following which will wipe the drive but will
allow you to reinstall her previous operating system:
Assuming you have a
98 boot floppy, boot with that. At the prompt, type fdisk and press enter,
delete the non-dos partition, create a primary dos partition, set it active
and exit.

If it says you have no non-dos partition your system is still fat32, delete
the primary DOS Partition, create a new one, set it active and exit fdisk,
reboot the system with 98 floppy in the drive and at the prompt type format
C: and press enter. Once format is
complete, change to your CD-ROM drive and with the 9x CD in the drive,
type setup, press enter and follow the screens.
