My PC is PII 466, 64mem. I just upgraded the windows from
98 to XP. The speed is too slow when surffing on the
internet compared with it installed 98. For exmaple, it
takes about more than 1min to load the page of
support.microsoft.com. Anyone has idea how to improve it?
I use IE6, WinXP professional, Norton FireWall, Norton
Anti-Virous.
Thanks in advance.

64MB of RAM is vastly insufficient to run Windows XP.
Visit www.crucial.com and order another 256MB of RAM.
After installing it, you'll think you have a new computer!

You need to upgrade your RAM badly. 64MB is the minimun. check to see how
much your motherboard support and then go buy more.

Your machine is inadequate for XP. At minimum, upgrade to at least 256
mb memory, and if you can, go for 512.

You have far too little RAm, and that's why it's so slow--you are
paging all the time.
How much RAM you need for decent performance depends on what apps
you run, but most people need between 256 and 512MB. Some,
particularly those doing photo-editing, need even more.
You need to upgrade to a minimum of 256MB.
