hello there
I have a PC with XP. Yesterday I tried to install a sofware
(NAVirus from my cd-rom drive)but i could not. The windows
says: "(!)Windows installer: The system administrator has
set policies to prevent this installation"
I always log on as a an admin and installed programs the
same way and never happened before. I checked the "comp
management" and the service for windows installer is
running/started. There are no policies against installing
software in the Pc.
I also deleted the user account on the system, so i am the
only with admin rights but still doesn't work
any clues... thank you

Hi Juan,
The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you
are running in safe mode or if the Windows Installer is not correctly
installed.
Go to Start/Run and type in:
msiexec /unregister [click ok]
Then Start/Run and type in:
msiexec /regserver [click ok]
For Pro, check your settings here:
Start/Run/gpedit.msc/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows
